On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO, where Rev. Dr. Wallace Hartsfield is the pastor, a historic event took place that enhances the theological educational opportunity for our members.
National Baptist Convention of America International, Inc. (NBCA) represented by Rev. Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr., President, and the Chicago Theological Seminary (CTS) represented by Dr. Alice Hunt, CTS President, announced and signed an agreement that officially launches the NBCA Online Seminary! Members of NBCA churches will have an opportunity to apply and be awarded scholarships for a Master of Arts, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry almost totally online. The scholarship recipients will be referred to as ‘The Wallace S. Hartsfield Scholars’ and will receive tuition discounts from 30% and in some cases up to 80%. This scholarship will be administered and managed by the NBCA College & Seminary Board, where we recently appointed Rev. Delbert Brown as the new Executive Secretary/Treasurer.
