The Commission on Social Justice plans and promotes programs to provide Christian concern for the welfare of oppressed people; safeguards the principles of religious liberty, social justice and the equality of humankind as children of God; monitors social justice within the churches and communities where member churches are located and expand its functions to consider the global issues related to equity and justice, and; maintains a regional, national and world-wide network of relationships with social justice arms whose common objectives are the applications of the Christian ethic to all issues which impact member churches and individuals of the Convention.
